I keep trying to shoot Grandfather Mountain in winter, with beautiful snow scenes in mind. yet every time I make a trip down there in winter I'm thwarted by a near complete lack of snow...

The photos below are from our Thrusday hike on the Grandfather Trail from Linville Peak to Calloway Peak and back. Weather was cold, foggy, windy and rainy, but there was no snow and very little ice on the trail.
